High Level Bridge Fall Pictures

With the cooler weather this past week it gave me the opportunity to shoot some amazing pictures of the high level bridge. Add to that the amazing fall colors and you could not go wrong. It also helped me to get inside and to work on updating my blog and gallery.  I have spent the past couple of days testing a new plugin for my blog. After all the testing I did it was not worth the time I invested in it.  Then today in frustration I tried another plugin and it worked. So here is a gallery that I put together of the bridge shots from this past Tuesday. It is a new type of gallery that I wanted to test out.

High Level Bridge

High Level Bridge, Lethbridge Alberta. Also known as the CPR bridge.

Here is a gallery with more bridge pictures.

Scanning slides, negatives & prints

I have been scanning slides, negatives & prints for customers for years. When I look back at the original scanners that were available and compare it to today’s scanners I cannot believe how far technology has come. All scans done on state-of-art scanners at the highest resolution. All work done safety in Lethbridge!

A scan from a old 35mm slide, printed and framed with gallery glass.

High Level Bridge, Lethbridge

Working on edits from the Bridge shoot the other night. The colors were amazing and with little wind I did a number of time exposures. Would like to do more before winter but not sure how the leaves are going to hold out.

It is funny living in southern Alberta to say that I would have liked a little more wind, but I would have. Not enough wind to shake me or the camera but enough to cause the clouds to move a little faster. When you are doing time exposures there is a fine line of not enough movement and too much. You want some things to show movement like the clouds and the water but you prefer to not have the trees bending over so much that they look like dancers. Tonight was just sort of getting the clouds to move enough to show how I wanted but I will take it.

Evening Shoot – Long Exposure

SO we all know the rules of photography. We know the rule of thirds, the rule of shutter speed should equal the mm of the lens for hand holding, use faster shutter speed to stop action, etc, etc. So why would someone break the rules? Well for fun of course!!

Writing on Stone

An afternoon trip to Writing on Stone this past weekend. It was overcast and cool but the colors were amazing!!! Love this park when it is not unbearably hot!

Looking south down to the river

Surprisingly there were a lot of people camping considering the weather was cool and damp.  But as usual as soon as you walk a few feet into the coulees you may hear the people but you seldom see them.  Not a lot of animals out this trip, saw a number of Pronghorns just outside the park but that was it.
