A quick shoot of CASA Lethbridge, Alberta building last night. PERFECT light for the look I wanted to get!
A cold fall day exploring the river bottom turned out to be a nice warm fall day. Funny how a day that looks like it will be bad can turn around.
The Lethbridge river valley is a place that holds a lot of history and a lot of wildlife. There is a lot of wildlife that I never thought that I would see down there and one of them is wild turkey. Went down on Sunday and came across 7 turkeys enjoying the sun and a meal. Not sure how wild they are but they were down there and were not too worried about people walking by or taking their picture.
With the nice weather I was more than happy to finally be able to do a harvest shoot. The lower levels of the sun in the sky, little wind and the rich colors was great to work with.
Add to this the fact that I do not have to get up so early in the morning to catch the sunrise and I am REALLY a happy photographer.
These pictures are from last week when I was walking my do. Most days I forget to grab a camera but this day I knew that a camera had to come with me. The dog is not very happy when I am stopping to take pictures but she still got her walk and possibly a little extra as I was going back and forth waiting till the sun was at the perfect angle.

One thing that I like about macro photography is that you can do it almost any place and anytime. Unlike wildlife or scenic photography you do not even have to leave your house if you do not want to and if you have some light sources you can shoot pictures in the middle of the night or when it is freezing outside.
Outside my front door I have a plant that has the most colorful leaves you could imagine each fall and seeing that I have not done any macro photography for the longest time I thought one of these leaves would be perfect to work with.
I am not someone that goes out of my way to do macro photography but I do like playing with the settings and looks you can get. This shoot was just what I needed to get my creative juices flowing for more macro.
