I often get asked about photo locations in Lethbridge. While there are many public or semi private ones that you can use without booking or paying there are more and more that are starting to charge. Below is a list that I have contacted to check on any requirements. I am not including private locations as this changes so fast, will keep it to ones that most clients ask about. Will update as I get more information……. (update June 14, 2018)
I hear so often about people that put all their faith in what Google tells them. If something is wrong they Google it, if they want to know how to do something they Google it and while I do the same thing when I am stuck I do it with a lot of caution. It is not just Google that can be an issue it is any place that offers free information or FREE courses and classes. The other day I listened to a guest on the radio tell about the pitfalls of listening to on-line results with respect to medical diagnoses and how much someone can be messed up by the results. If you want to know how bad it is just Google something like “Red bump on arm” and see the results, anything from a cancerous growth, to a steph infection, to a poisonous spider bite when all it was was a mosquito bite.
The stages of sensor dust denial and cleaning!
– There is a spot on my image…… cannot be sensor dust, I just cleaned it!
– A week later – The spot is still there, that is strange!
– A month passes – The spot is still there, it is not so bad I can live with it.
I love chasing storms!!!
I am not a fan when storms come and chase me, but if I can go after them it is AMAZING!!!! Below is some information on my storm chasing gear so you can be ready when things heat up!
BEFORE I START A WARNING!!!
It is great to get some amazing storm pictures but be careful!!! If you are not familiar with storms find someone to go out with for the first few times or take a course. No picture is work a death!!
I get asked a lot how I can stay caught up doing the work that I do? Believe me it is easy to fall behind so for the next few days I will be giving out some tips on staying caught up.
Tip 1 – Don’t put off to tomorrow what you can do today!
I have been wanting to do this exposure chart for a long time and with it being a snow day it was a good day to work on it. It is not designed to be a 100% complete with data or is it to explain everything but it is a good cheat sheet to help when shooting.
You can print a copy of it for PERSONAL use only as long as you do not remove or alter any information.

I was out walking the dog yesterday and could not believe how hot the sun was. A good sign that spring is coming and with spring the birds. I love the spring birds as they are in good health and their colors are starting to enhance so what better time for a bird course.
This year I have added a full day with (6 hours) of shooting.
Is it time for a change in your life and business or are you on track? Once again I wake up and check out the sites that I usually frequent and read about everything in life that I am doing wrong; from what I eat, to what I say and do, to what my desires are to how I operate my business. BUT the strange thing is that those that are writing the posts to put me and others down are usually the ones that have the issues that they are slamming in others.
One person was saying that to operate a successful business that we need to give 200% of ourselves to make that business a success BUT they have had several bankruptcies. Another person says that to be a great photographer we need to push our limits but they admit that they have seen zero growth in their business as they are still trying to do the same thing today as 10 years ago.
Something I try to do daily, weekly, monthly and yearly is to look at what is working in my personal life and business and keep going with it and to see what is not working and to change it. It is not easy but I believe it must be done if we are to keep moving ahead. I keep in the back of my mind the saying “Insanity Is Doing the Same Thing Over and Over Again and Expecting Different Results”. With the end of 2017 we need to take this to heart and look at what needs to be changed and then do it!!!
I often get calls that ask me if I have a certain type or make of paper and most times I have to reply “sorry no I don’t”. Then I am asked why? Well there are a lot of different companies that make paper and some really good companies at that. The problem is that each paper has good qualities and bad and I have to weigh that before I bring the paper in.
